Our Story
WE REALLY LOVE MILK SOAP!
My wife Elke and I started making milk soap in our kitchen because we wanted to create a product that we ourselves could use, and that made people feel good. Few things feel better than being clean, we thought, and so the Gentle Milk Bar was born.
We make our bars with whole cow's milk because we love what it brings to the soap. Its natural fats and sugars help create a dense, creamy lather and a bar that feels rich and satisfying to use. Just good ingredients doing what they're supposed to.

We believe making a good product also means thinking carefully about how we make it. We're committed to choosing responsibly sourced ingredients, reducing unnecessary waste, and making thoughtful decisions about our packaging and production. We recognize sustainability as an ongoing process, and as we grow, we'll continue looking for practical ways to lessen our impact without compromising the quality of our soap.
100% RECYCLABLE PACKAGING
We choose 100% recyclable, completely uncoated paper packaging and leave out unnecessary materials like waxes, silicones, and plastics. Once you've opened your bar, simply recycle the wrapper as you would regular paper and give those materials another life.
OUR STANCE ON PALM OIL
Palm cultivation has been associated with deforestation, habitat loss, and other serious environmental problems. Like the World Wildlife Fund, we believe the better path is demanding more responsible practices and supporting sustainable palm oil production. Learn more from WWF WWF
The truth is, palm oil makes really good soap. It helps create a firm, long-lasting bar with a rich, satisfying lather. But we agree that it's an ingredient that deserves a high degree of scrutiny.
Our Gentle Milk Bar is made with 15% RSPO Certified Sustainable Palm Oil because we're committed to sourcing palm oil more responsibly and supporting better environmental and social practices throughout its production. ORGANIC OILS AND QUALITY INGREDIENTS
We make our soap with organic coconut oil, organic castor oil, and whole milk powder from pasture-raised, grass-fed cows. We choose quality ingredients carefully because we believe a better bar of soap starts with what goes into it.
